Reliable TB Skin Test for Work, School, and Travel

Get your Mantoux (Tuberculin) test done quickly at our walk-in clinic. Only Two visits required — no referral needed.

Why You Might Need a TB Test

  • Employment in healthcare, education, or long-term care
  • Travel or visa applications
  • Post-secondary education requirements
  • Volunteer programs or institutional placements
  • Exposure to someone with active TB

How the Test Works

First Visit

A small amount of purified protein derivative (PPD) is injected under your skin on the forearm.

Second Visit

48–72 hours later, a provider checks your arm for any reaction and measures the results.

If you miss the second visit, the test becomes invalid and must be repeated.

Is the Test Painful?

Not really — you’ll feel a quick pinch when the solution is injected under the skin, similar to a small mosquito bite. Afterward, you may notice mild redness, itching, or tenderness at the site, which usually goes away quickly.

Can I get a blood test instead?

Yes. There is a blood test called IGRA (Interferon Gamma Release Assay) that can also check for TB infection. However, some employers, schools, or travel programs specifically require the Mantoux skin test, so check the requirements before booking.

Can my BCG vaccine cause a positive test?

Yes. If you received the Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine, it can sometimes cause a false-positive TB skin test, especially if you were vaccinated more recently. Your healthcare provider will consider your medical history, country of origin, and risk factors when interpreting results.
